Head of China's Tesla division will now be the head of Tesla's sales operation in North America
Tom Zhu, who is the head of Tesla's China division will be in charge of all operations in North America and Europe from Tuesday onwards. He has been appointed to this position by the founder and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk. Tom Zhu will be second most powerful person in the company after Elon Musk. His main job would be to monitor deliveries in all markets and production of the electric car manufacturer.
Managers from countries like China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand will still be reporting to Zhu. Although born in China, Zhu has a New Zealand passport. His promotion to a global role comes when Twitter acquisition preoccupy Musk, and Tesla is readying the launch of Cybertruck. Tesla's analysts and investors have encouraged decisions that enhance the senior executive bench and divert Musk's attention towards Tesla.
